Renewal of the motor block aboard the MV “Thomas Selmer”

On behalf of the shipping company Oskar Wehr KG (GmbH & Co.) we replaced the complete motor block aboard the “Thomas Selmer” after a motor damage.

For this purpose three technicians removed and checked all add-on pieces. After the motor block and the crankshaft had been prepared for replacement, the technicians received the new components at the port. Using a crane ashore, the old parts were replaced by new ones. The new block was brought to its point of destination in the interior of the ship. There, everything was reassembled.

At the end of mounting a successful trial run was performed and the technicians left the ship satisfied.
